Online retailers need to clarify whether, since 12 August 2026, they are manufacturers and therefore (as has often effectively been the case already) producers, because this makes them responsible for packaging compliance and financing recycling, along with the related registration and reporting duties.

Für Onlinehändler besteht Klärungsbedarf, ob sie seit dem 12. August 2026 Erzeuger und damit (wie bisher im Ergebnis häufig auch schon) Hersteller sind, denn damit tragen sie die Verantwortung für die Konformität und die Finanzierung des Verpackungsrecyclings sowie die damit verbundenen Registrierungs- und Meldepflichten.
