CalRecycle carton collection and sortation update
On June 24, 2026, CalRecycle published updated information regarding the collection and sortation of non-CRV cartons (both gable-top and aseptic). CalRecycle based those updates on information it obtained regarding the number of counties served by LVTPs that sort cartons into PSI Grade 52 bales, which are made up of post-consumer food and beverage aseptic and gable top cartons. This updated information will inform the next update to the Covered Material Categories List, which will be published by January 1, 2027.
